After the fibers are locked in, the carpet is dyed employing methods that will create patterns or effects. For the cut pile carpets, the last stage is extended to the cutting of pile loops. This stage will determine the softness and over all feel of the carpet.
To provide stability, the carpet will also undergo a secondary stretching. This process will also allow the carpet to be stretched while being installed. Most of the modern carpets will also have stain protection that will occur in the manufacturing phase.
The continuous fibers found in a carpet are heat set at the mill to furnish a tightly twisted product that is usually found with fresco carpets. This form of yarn is less bulky but it will maintain its shape for a long time. This is advisable for those who don't like to refurbish their carpet every couple of years.
The process on how carpet was produced will have an impact on how the carpet is installed. In the past, the creation of carpet was a very dense process with no computers or technology to aid one’s work on a carpet. It was all hand-made but the end product is still have great quality although there is less variant on styles compared to the modern carpets that were designed with the help of computers.
