Steam Carpet Cleaning
How does steam cleaning works? The process involves dispersing hot water to a spray extraction tool or wand, attached to a pump vacuum power unit. The cleaning solution is then injected through water jet nozzles under pressure deep.
The water will then break in the fiber all the way down to the back. This process will loosen embedded soil, remove oil and grease deposits, and clean to the fullest as if were brand new.
The steam carpet cleaners’ ranges from small portables to the large and powerful truck mounted units. But whatever model you pick, the premise of cleaning your carpet thoroughly is observed for both types.
Truck mounted are designed that only the hose and wand are taken into the area being cleaned. These units are very potent, releasing hot water and generating a high vacuum recovery powered by diesel fuel, gas, propane, or even by a truck’s motor.
Most carpet manufacturers, fiber producers, and professional cleaners in achieving soil removal effectiveness are endorsing this process. The state of the art equipment and innovations paved the way to a faster and efficient means of cleaning carpets.
Are there disadvantages in using steam carpet cleaning? Well there is when it involves over wetting and prolonged drying period. However, a skilled operator who uses well-maintained equipment will prevent any problems that could occur.
The two methods of steam carpet cleaning are as follows:
- The first method uses traffic lane cleaner, which is sprayed onto the traffic lanes where it leads into the fibers. The entire area is then cleaned by using a hot water extractor that has a cleaning solution being injected into the fibers through the wand.
- The second method uses a free rinse emulsifying formula sprayed onto the entire carpet up to its individual fibers.
Steam cleaning procedures:
- Mix the free rinsing pre-spray in a pump or power sprayer. In the extractor’s solution tank, mix the rinsing agent.
- Produce a floor plan.
- Remove all furniture that will be affected in the cleaning process.
- Meticulously vacuum the carpet. Make use of a pile brush to loosen the soils to enhance the effects of vacuum.
- Drench a good amount of pre-spray solution.
- With the use of a grooming tool, apply pre-spray deep into the fibers then leave it for 10 - 15 minutes. But make sure that will not dry out.
- Haul out the area using a portable, truck mounted, or automatic carpet cleaner.
- Repeat steps 5 through 7 until the entire area is thoroughly cleaned.
